Online Poker Guide: Poker Room Poker Review

If I was to use one word to describe Poker Room, it would have to be smooth. The software looked great, there are a lot of players, good promotions and a great support system. One feature that I really liked was the option for both a downloadable version of the software and a Java-based version that would work great for a slower or dialup connection. Another good feature about this poker site is the amount of traffic it brings, there are a lot of players on the site, with a wide range of skills to bring to the table.

A friend of mine who has been bugging me to switch to this site claims the software runs great on a Mac. In addition to having smooth game play, the software keeps track of all the statistics you need to see to improve your poker game.

Game Variety

Most people like myself don't stray too far from Hold'em, but for those of you with more refined poker tastes Poker Room has a lot of choices when it comes to how you want to win your pots. They offer poker games like Omaha and seven-card stud in both Hi and Hi-Lo. With the number of players on Poker Room the play is generally soft, so if you're a really tight player you may want to modify your style.

Promotions

There are a lot of good tournaments that happen on Poker Room everyday. In addition to the regular tournaments there are qualifying events for the WSOP and the WPT. There is one tournament that stuck out for me, Poker Room is offering one of their player's a chance to win a gig as a professional poker player worth $240,000.

Why I Like Hollywood Poker More Than Poker Room

Okay, I have to admit that I really enjoyed playing at Poker Room and if I was to change to another poker room it would be this one. The thing that will keep me coming back to Hollywood Poker is celebrities that play on the site, Poker Room does not have that element.
