Men of Poker: Johnny Chan Johnny Chan may be poker's most well known name. He is a legend in the poker world for winning ten World Series of Poker gold bracelets, tied for the most along with Doyle Brunson. Two bracelets were from back to back Championship events in 1987 and 1988, and he almost secured a third in 1989 - finishing second to Phil Hellmuth. Although winning two WSOP championships is a feat that only him and Doyle Brunson share, many consider him a former champion that is past his prime - having not made many headlines in the poker world in the last ten years.
