Wayne Rooney Sticks With Soccer

One England?s brightest soccer stars was not able to take his success on the field to the poker table. Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney lost over ?700,000 in a recent attempt at conquering the poker tables and he is not that happy about it.

According to the Daily Mirror Wayne Rooney is upset that no one tried to stop him from betting over and over to win back his money. Wayne Rooney chose his favorite card game of Texas Hold?em as his poison and reportedly lost his new Chrysler 300C car to teammate Phil Bardsley. They car is worth ?25,000, or half a week of Wayne Rooney?s salary with the Manchester United.

"Wayne feels very annoyed that no-one discouraged him from chasing his losses. That's how the problem got so big,? explained someone close to Manchester United.

Phil Bardsley has denied winning a car from his teammate, he claims he bought the car from Wayne Rooney fair and square.

The bad poker games have not affected Wayne Rooney at his day job. The striker scored one of two goals that put Manchester United over Arsenal in the Premiership over the weekend. Other players including Man U?s Michael Owens and Chelsea captain John Terry have been singled out for their high betting loses.
