Bodog.com is trying the separate their site from the rest of the many online poker sites on the internet with some cleaver marketing and a good example would be their new Las Vegas billboard. Bodog founder and CEO Calvin Ayre appears on the billboard with the slogan Training Casino Players All Over the World to Come to Vegas.? The ad was debuted near the McCarran Airport at the beginning of July. The goal of the billboard is the remind players and casino operators on the relationship between online poker sites and casinos.
"Since the advent of online gaming, international operators have been giving their players extensive gaming experience, making them more comfortable at the tables and sportsbooks of Vegas," explained Calvin Ayre. "With our Bodog.com Marketing Conference coming up, we thought it timely to remind Vegas and other land based casino operators of the growth online gaming brings to the entire industry. We have directly invited senior executives from the major land-based casinos and hope interested operators will attend our conference."
More marketing ideas for Bodog will be expressed at the upcoming third annual Bodog.com Marketing Conference held at the Wynn Las Vegas on July 23-25, 2006. The event is quickly becoming a trade show for the growing online poker industry. There are going to be a wide range of speakers from all areas of the business with speaking appearances by Calvin Ayre and Magic Johnson.
"The Bodog Marketing Conference has traditionally served to move the discussion of online gaming forward. This year, we are actively inviting our land based brethren to join us," says Calvin Ayre, who was featured on the cover of this year's Forbes Magazine's Billionaires issue. "Marketing and Branding have taken over as the key differentiators in this industry and that's proven year after year. The most well attended conferences in online gaming are now marketing focused -- and we did it first."
